Celebrating
So happy to share that I’m now an AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.
While preparing for the exam, something an interviewer asked me several years ago popped into my mind: “What did you ACTUALLY learn from getting that AWS Cloud Practitioner certification?”
“That I don’t want to work for you,” I thought but kept it to myself. 🙃
I did ACTUALLY learn quite a few things this time too:
- How to make cloud solutions secure, performant, and reliable
- How to visualize architectures in diagrams / think in architecture diagrams
- How to use the AWS documentation (whitepapers, FAQs, etc.)
But mostly I learned about the vast possibilities building in the cloud offers. It allows so many things that were not possible for me a few years ago. I’m no longer dependent on my employer’s tech stack or training budget or ability to sell new products in order to LEARN. Loving the flexibility to learn and build based on my interests.
