My superpower

My superpower is solving problems. I balance research with rapid experimentation to find optimal solutions.

Infrastructure as code example

On a recent cloud modernization project, I found myself in an environment with 20 GitHub repositories of infrastructure code. This environment required a mix of research (investigating with the AWS Console, searching GitHub code, researching pull requests, debugging existing code, reading vendor documentation, interviewing teammates and talking to end-users) plus writing code to prove out minimum viable products (MVPs).

These are some kind words from my teammates about my fearless but organized approach to solving problems:

“Your proactive approach and ability to dive into unknown territories, research diligently, and emerge with solutions that benefit your entire team is nothing short of inspiring”

“Heather’s work is top notch. She’s taken on a number of technical cloud-based data curation and pipelining projects for my company. Heather delivers high quality, usable and detailed results on time and on budget.”

“I really like your approach on solving problems. You are always willing to learn new things and go through challenges. I really appreciate your dedication.”

“She leaves no stone unturned, and does a great job at validating, condensing, and simplifying information that has certainly saved data scientists a significant amount of time and energy. This has in turn allowed other team members to focus on their competitive advantage.”
