Technical Writing
Great writing can help technical teams in many ways. I believe this so strongly that I wrote a blog post about the benefits of having a technical writer.
I always feel a responsibility to leave things better than I found them, which often means documenting technical details for the next person who may be in my situation. Since writing is normally something developers dislike, my teammates usually notice that I take on technical writing tasks to make the team stronger:
“I would like to commend you for your documentation and viewpoints you have brought forward to help the team succeed and be more efficient.”
Outside of my day job, I’ve documented the steps for using AWS to locate and prepare NOAA weather station data in the spirit of open science. I’ve also contributed documentation to an open source course AWS for Bioinformatics.
Making Technical Topics More Accessible
Recently I’ve written about boosting AI fairness and explainability with Amazon SageMaker Clarify and what it means to be a data engineer.
